There
was a boy who got a new retainer for his mouth.
One
day, at lunch, he took it out and put it on a napkin so he could eat.
When he wasn’t looking, his cat Boots grabbed it in his mouth.
The cat swallowed it. Then, the cat ate his own lunch.
Later the boy went back to get his retainer from the napkin and saw it
wasn’t there. He wondered where it was. So, he went looking for it.
First,
he checked in the kitchen.
Then, he checked in the trash.
There was one last place it could have been.
Then, he went to the cat litter box and found it.
“Hurrah!”
said the boy.
